Billed as the community “between the city and the sea,” Tamaya is a 780-acre master-planned community that’s close to beaches, shopping and downtown Jacksonville. The grand, gated entrance is beyond impressive, greeting residents and visitors alike. Community amenities include the expansive Resident’s Club with over 10,000 square feet of versatile space that houses a catering kitchen, clubroom, 75-person meeting space, as well as the state-of-the-art fitness center. Outside, residents can bask in two pools, relax in the cabana, play tennis, or sip cocktails on the covered porch. Future additions will include more than 500,000 square feet of commercial and retail space, making it virtually unnecessary to leave the community.
ICI Homes offers a variety of home plans, ranging in size from 1,979 to 3,500 square feet, featuring Tuscan, Mediterranean and Spanish architectural styles. Prices start in the mid $300s.
If you want to immerse yourself in the Floridian lifestyle, RiverTown in St. Johns County should be on your short list. As one of the newest, master-planned communities in Northeast Florida, it offers residents miles of hiking trails, safe biking and running areas, as well as plenty of spectacular river views. For those who prefer to stay on land, RiverHouse Amenity Center and RiverClub provide state-of-the-art facilities with an abundance of recreational activities and social gatherings.
There are currently seven neighborhoods in RiverTown built by Mattamy Homes. Floor plans range in size from 1,600 square feet to 3,760 square feet, and feature spacious front porches and open floor plans. Prices start in the mid $200s.
Markland, another newcomer to St. Johns County, is a 314-acre master-planned community that offers residents a laidback lifestyle in desirable St. Augustine. Shearwater boasts that its “one part sanctuary, one part playground and one part social hub,” and it lives up to the hype. Nestled halfway between Jacksonville and St. Augustine, this master-planned community features a resort-style Kayak Club and Fitness Lodge, trail systems and parks, and nature preserves. Children will love the three-story water slide tower and sports fields. The neighborhoods are intimate with inviting walkways and courtyards that encourage social interaction.
Homes in Shearwater offer the best in contemporary design and will range in size from 1,637 square feet to over 4,000 square feet. Semi-custom homes are available in a few select neighborhoods. Builders include: David Weekly, Lennar, Richmond American, Mastercraft Builder Group, D.S. Ware, Drees and Dream Finders. Prices start at the mid $200s.
Del Webb Ponte Vedra
For those seeking an active adult lifestyle, Del Webb Ponte Vedra fits the bill. Located in desirable Nocatee, this master-planned community caters to the 55+ crowd with resort-style amenities and its own Lifestyle Director. Residents can connect at one of over 30 social clubs and groups, walk along six miles of natural trails, keep fit in the gym, or meet for a quick game of bocce ball, pickle ball or tennis. There is an indoor and outdoor pool, so you can enjoy the water during any season.
